I have decided to put an ad in the September Issue of Atlanta Homes & Lifestyles. I did a few mock-up ads yesterday and want to know what you think. Please leave a comment letting me know what ad you like - think like a potential client. These options are still rough - but will be finessed once one is selected at which point you will be able to see it in the magazine!
Please vote, pass it on for others to vote, thanks!
Option 1
Option 2

Option 3

Option #1 - no question.
ReplyDeleteHave a great weekend.
I like the first one.
ReplyDeleteTie between 1 & 3, but I think #3 has a better composition. Looks great!
ReplyDelete1/4 Page? Then #1
ReplyDeleteI don't like designer ads dominated by glam shot of the designer. See page 27 of August 2010 AH&L. Like having your picture as in #1 though.
I have a perpetual problem where readability is sacrificed to design. My poor eyes need big letters and a lot of contrast between text and background.
I'd do your URL as CapellaKincheloe.com
Looking forward to your ad.
I like #1 the best, too! Looks fabulous.
ReplyDeleteThanks for your input everyone! I really really appreciate it.
ReplyDelete#1 for sure...
ReplyDeleteI really liked the 3rd one. I think it is good to put a face with a name.
ReplyDeleteEveryone has such great points. Hopefully the first ad will be so successful that I will have the opportunity to put a second ad in.
ReplyDeleteJust found your blog and have to say it's great!
ReplyDeleteI definitely agree #1 is the best. It show you but also some of your work. Can't wait to see it in the magazine. I am sure it will do well.
#3 is my pick.
ReplyDelete#1- I like the design photo's and your photo together. Mimi
ReplyDeleteLissa- Thanks for the compliment! Its nice to know people appreciate my work.
ReplyDeleteAnd BIG thanks to everyone who commented!
Is there a way to blend two and three? I think those two photos would be lovely together. I hope the ad brings you lots of work!
ReplyDeleteDelightful Dahlia - thanks for your thoughts! Welcome to blogger, I see that you recently joined. I hope that you continue to enjoy my blog.
ReplyDeletedefinitely number 1, no questions. I too like the mix of you and design. I wonder if you should firm up the fonts though...seems like there are 3...just a thought. And just some input on #3, the "formerly..." font is way too squiggly which makes it hard to read if you are skimming...and the words at the bottom above your website are too spread out and close to the edges...you have to read twice to make out the words. Great stuff, congrats on the Ad.
ReplyDeleteI also vote for #1. your business name is bold and grabs the eye. features your work and let's the reader know who you are all at the same time.
ReplyDeleteCongrats on stepping out into the brave world of advertising. Keep us posted on how it goes!
